About residential lighting

The other day, we were able to successfully open the long-awaited lighting and interior showroom. It is up to me to realize every day that this is also thanks to everyone.
In the design of this showroom, there was an idea of "interior design from the perspective of lighting" as a major theme. In general, when it comes to lighting plans, I think there are many things that are decided at the end, such as architectural design → interior coordination → lighting plan. However, if you make a lighting plan after a fixed floor plan or interior design, the lighting options will be quite limited, resulting in a uniform plan.
In the first place, the lighting of houses in Japan tends to choose a bright space even at night, fearing that both the creator and the client will get dark.
The biggest advantage of the lighting plan that illuminates the whole is that it can be handled no matter who, where or what. Whether you change the layout of the room or do something in a corner of the room, as long as it is brightly illuminated from corner to corner, there is no problem. Therefore, if you make every corner as bright as possible, make the most of the lighting, and make the ceiling and walls white and the floor bright colored to make it look brighter, the light will be reflected on the ceiling, walls, and floor and it will be brighter.
Most of the current houses are built with that idea, and it can be said that this is the least risky (claim) house building.
Until now, many Japanese people have lived in an environment where every corner is brightly illuminated by ceiling lights, so it is natural for the lighting of the house to be bright, and I think it is better to be bright than dark.
What I often ask such customers is, "What was the lighting like in a hotel with a good atmosphere and my favorite cafe?"
Perhaps the lighting that left the impression of many people was a place where the necessary lights were lit in the necessary places in a dark space. The noise disappears into the darkness, and only the gentle light that you want to see is lit up" It must have been such a space.
Even at home, the night lights do not change. If you live in a space with calm lights, you will naturally feel calm and relaxed in your life. I don't think living in such an environment is inconvenient at all, and I think it will make your daily life more fulfilling.
"Interior thinking from lighting" is actually "thinking about how to live" itself.
Modern society is full of information, and we live surrounded by various noises during the day. In such a life, I think it is very important to prepare an environment that resets the fatigue of the day, at least at night when you return home.
This time, I set up two tasks to design the showroom.
The first is "I don't use any downlights."
This is a new proposal for the fact that most of the current lighting plans use downlights to illuminate the whole, and general lighting is the mainstream. Initially, the downlights played an auxiliary role in general lighting as local lighting. It's always like lighting up the whole with a lot of downlights, and now there's a trend that it's fashionable to use downlights.
I am proposing local lighting rather than general lighting before. The reason is as mentioned above, but other than that, I feel that the local lighting that is closer to the hand is not too dazzling than the light pouring down from the ceiling, and the feeling of reaching the itchy place is more convenient and easier to use. I think it's important to set up the necessary lights where it's necessary, even if it's a little troublesome.
The second is "don't use the white wall."
In the case of general lighting, in order to efficiently brighten the space, it is better to maximize the reflection of the walls, ceilings, and floors, but not in the case of local lighting. On the contrary, the reflected light creates unnecessary noise and cancels out the goodness of the light. The showroom uses oak veneers, but it softly reflects the lights of the lights placed on the wall and improves the quality of the lights. In addition, the slightly reddish wood color unique to teak wood draws a beautiful gradient from orange to red depending on the light.
In this way, the new showroom is sprinkled with many proposals for a new home, from lighting design to interior design, starting with the way of lighting in the home. I hope you can take a look at it and use it as a reference for your future home construction and lifestyle.
