BEAT is a lighting collection that incorporates traditional Indian brass sheet metal technology into modern lighting. "Beat" refers to the scaly dents lined up on the inside of the shade. All shades are created by molding brass plates with a hammer by the hands of craftsmen, and this beat is engraved in the process.

The technology that was once used for daily necessities such as pots and water pots was being lost due to the Westernization and mechanization of life and the lack of successors. Tom Dixon, who participated in an NGO project led by the British Council (British Council for the Promotion of Culture), designed the beatlite with the intention of adopting craft technology in design pieces and adding new value.
