Pierre Jeanneret - Vintage Demountable Chair
A vintage chair designed by Pierre Jeanneret, the cousin of Le Corbiger, in the 1951 Indian Chandigaard City Plan. Jeannere stayed in India for about 14 years before it was industrialized, and designed chairs using wood that was easily available locally and airy rattan materials. There are dozens of types of furniture designed for Chandigal in the 1950s and 1960s, just chairs. However, because it was made in multiple workshops, there are subtle individual differences even in the same design. Currently, exports from India are prohibited for the purpose of protecting cultural heritage, and it is a precious chair that is said to be never newly released except for those that have already been taken out of the country.
