This is the first comprehensive monograph by Italian architect and designer Mario Bellini, who is an indispensable figure in talking about Italian design in the 1960s. He is known for his elegant, dramatic, and sometimes poetic designs for brands such as Olivetti, Cassina, B&B Italia, Vitra, and Artemide. In 1987, a retrospective exhibition was held at the "Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)" in New York, and won Italy's most prestigious design award "Compasso Doro International Award" eight times, and the influential Italian architecture and design magazine "D He served as the editor-in-chief of "omus" from 1986 to 1991 and continued to create architecture and designs for clients and places around the world.
This book contains a wealth of more than 500 illustrations, including sketches and photos that will be released for the first time extracted from the archive. From calculators, typewriters, office equipment and banking-related machines to chairs, tables, sofas, and lighting, the design work is introduced by theme. In addition to interviews with the author, it also contains essays covering various aspects such as career and the design process.
