"HOMES" takes us to a gallerist's penthouse in New York, fashion designer Phillip Lim's seaside home on Long Island, New York, a historic mansion in Düsseldorf renovated for artist Su Xiaobai, architect Marc Dessauvage's Brutalist home in Bruges, and a Copenhagen loft where everything has a place and is tailored to suit real-life living.
The "INTERVIEW" section features an interview with the design duo Formafantasma, activists and practitioners who seek to reshape the field of design from within, a field that some see as less radical and others as less commercial. It also features an interview with Japanese architect Tadao Ando, who believes that the "home" is the foundation or origin of architecture, as it is the realm that exists closest to human life and is the most conflicted.
"INSERT OBJECTS" showcases the collection of American designer Jack Lenor Larsen, ranging from heirlooms to obscure pieces. Larsen's collection speaks to his broad interest in craft cultures from around the world. Styled and curated by Colin King, the collection is photographed by Martien Mulder.
"SPACES COPENHAGEN" presents four apartments that blur the lines between inside and outside life, both as an expression of individuality and as a portrait of their inhabitants. "LIVING ARCHITECTURE" presents the innovative and revelatory home of Swedish designer Bruno Mattsson. Interior stylist Pernille Vest
"CASE STUDY" is perfectly imperfect, with unpolished edges and raw materials revealing perfection in its simplicity.
"ARCHIVE" introduces the exquisite light sculptures of Japanese-American artist Isamu Noguchi, whose works inspire and illuminate beyond debate and category, while "STUDIO VISIT" takes us to the home of designer Henry Timi, who has built a unique, modest yet sensuous studio in the Marche region of Italy.
