Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) and Preben Juhl Fabricius (1931-1984) shared a common mission: to create form that is purely derived from function. Both architects, they graduated from the Danish School of Interior Design and studied under Finn Juhl and then Arne Jacobsen. The P376 pendant lamp epitomizes Kastholm & Fabricius's sensitive architectural design. Conceived in 1963, the pendant lamp features five concentric shades that curve in a gradation toward the lamp's center, emitting a soft, diffused light. The arrangement of the shades and the silky aluminum finish create an iconic yet captivatingly cohesive statement.
