The "Eames Shell Chair", which represents mid-century design, was sponsored by Charles & Ray Eames in 1948 by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The prototype was announced at the "Design Competition". From 1953 to the 1990s, fibreglass shell chairs were manufactured and sold by Herman Miller, and from 2001 it was changed to polypropylene. This is a vintage made of fiberglass, a 1950s DSR (commonly known as Eiffel Base), and the shell and base are rare.
