The reason why the pendant light is not suitable for the living room

When it comes to lighting, most people are looking for pendant lights, but in fact, there are few places other than dining tables that need pendant lights.
In the case of Japan, there is a strong image of ceiling lights and pendant lights in Japanese-style rooms attached to the ceiling at home, etc., and there is a fixed concept that lighting is attached to the ceiling.
So when it comes to stylish room lighting, I can only think of chandeliers and pendant lights.
In the case of chandeliers, it requires a reasonable ceiling height, and it is not very popular because of the image of being in the old wealthy house. The rest is called pendant lights by elimination, but in the current situation, there are very many types of pendant lights in the lighting catalog.
In the first place, the pendant light is installed and used on the place where you want to illuminate brightly, such as a dining table. On the other hand, there are also things that are not originally used in places where there is nothing directly below.
In addition, a pendant light with a light bulb brightness of 100W or less is not bright enough to illuminate the entire room in the first place. If possible, it is ideal to install the lower edge of the lighting equipment at a height of about 60 to 80 cm from the top of the table, and by doing so, only the top plate will be moderately bright, creating a very good atmosphere around the dining table.
The higher it is, the weaker the light on the table becomes, and the dim and hazy light will only spread around.
The height from the floor of the pendant light is 130 to 150 cm if the height of the table top is 70 cm. If you put this on the coffee table (about 40 cm) in the living room, it will be 100 to 120 cm, so you should know that it is quite low.
By the way, the central height of the wall-mounted TV is generally 100 cm from the floor, so sitting on the sofa and the pendant light are at the same height.
In the case of the living room, it may be thought that it should be installed upwards, but as mentioned above, the higher the pendant light, the more the "hazy light" will only spread, so it is not suitable for the purpose of the room in the first place. .
Then, when it comes to what kind of lighting is good for the living room, it can be said that "floor light" is the most suitable.
There are many types of floor lights, so you need to choose one that suits the size and purpose of each room, but in general, it is standard to place one with a height of about 130 cm next to the sofa. Especially if the back of the sofa is a wall, not only the light at hand, but also the light hits the wall and illuminates the surroundings.
If you raise the pendant light, your hand will be dark, but the light of the 130 cm high floor light is just the right height to illuminate your hand from a little above the line of sight when sitting on the sofa, and the light that is lower than the ceiling is not so strong. It's enough, so a soft light that is kind to people spreads.
In addition, by combining several different types of lighting, such as small table lights, wall bracket lights, and indirect lighting, you can create a space with a good atmosphere with various shades. If the floor plan is LDK, by lowering the pendant light on the dining table, the pendant light floating in the air will be just the right accent.
The original functionality and utility of light are brought out by properly selecting and using the lighting that is suitable for each purpose. Instead of simply illuminating the entire space brightly, if you choose with a firm awareness of delivering "necessary light to the necessary place" for each, you will have a completely different impression even in the same room.
